À propos de la conférence

Women's and Gender Studies et Recherches Féministes (WGSRF) invites feminist scholars and gender justice advocates to engage in dialogue about community knowledge, resistance, and resilience. This year, WGSRF is dedicated to unpacking and deconstructing coercive, centrist, and colonialist forms of knowledge in an effort to re-imagine collaborative knowledge-building as solidarity. The aim of the conference is to share new theories, methods, and activism toward creating more generous and generative social and environmental futures. The association aims to promote Women's and Gender Studies as an academic field and to build a network of its practitioners across Canada in both languages.

As an interdisciplinary and critically engaged association, WGSRF will specifically interrogate the ways “energy economies” animate colonialist and neoliberal ways of imagining “science,” “development,” “climate change” and ”resource management."

Conférenciers invités

WGSRF is pleased to announce that Dr. Sherilyn MacGregor, Senior Lecturer in Politics at Keele University will provide a keynote address entitled: "Only Resist: Feminist Ecological Citizenship and the Post-politics of Climate Change." Dr. MacGregor's research on feminist and environmental political thought, sustainability, and ecological citizenship will be of interest to specialized scholars and the general public. Her work on the environment, especially climate change, is a contemporary hot topic in political, academic, and activist fields. Dr. MacGregor's critique of individualized behavioral change and the over-crowded climate change bandwagon is a significant re-imagining of ecological citizenship.
